Coach Reason ran the hurdles at South Salem HS and set the school record in the 300m hurdles in 1981 with a time of 38.9 seconds. He also ran 15.4 in the 110m hurdles. Coach Reason also ran the 400m hurdles and 4x400m Relay at Linfield University for four years and is currently ranked 9th overall in the hurdles.
Coach Reason was a Physical Education, Health, and Math teacher at the Elementary, Middle School, High School and Collegiate levels for 37 years, as well as an assistant and head track coach at various schools. He retired in 2022 from full time teaching and being the head coach at a nearby high school here in the valley.
He is currently the hurdle coach at a local high school here in Salem and now focuses on his investment business, taekwondo business, and personal hurdle coaching.
Coach Reason is married and has an adult son.
